A while ago I bought this booklet: I can't believe I'm knitting mittens.
Thought it was perfect for me :-)
Indeed I was able to knit a mitten with the help from the book and the second one was even much easier.
I lined it with a soft thin fleece so they are really warm.
Last week we went for a few days to Germany/ Eifel. It snowed and it was pretty cold. Perfect weather to try my new mittens !
The weather got me in the mood to knit christmas balls like I made last year. I would love to have my tree full with knitted balls like Carlos and Arne have.
Have you seen the Quiltmania agenda 2013?
I am pleasantly surprised that two of my quilts and one needlecase is published with a beautiful picture.
The agenda is lovely and has very cute small size.
Unfortunately it is raining cats and dogs here in the Netherlands right now.
Not so nice for being outside :-/
So I will end this post with a picture I took in Germany/ Eifel with lovely cold weather.
Lucy

I am hoping that some day I will be able to knit me some mittens. I've picked it back up after not having done any for almost ten years!
Love your knitted Christmas ornament. I think a tree decked out in a bunch of those would be wonderful!
I love anything Quiltmania and will have to check out their agenda for 2013. It looks delightful as is anything that comes from them. Congratulations on your quilts in the agenda!
Your mittens look wonderful! I'm impressed! I keep meaning to learn to knit...
Congratulations on being in the Quiltmania Agenda!! Your quilts are so very lovely I'm sure it was an easy decision for them. It is a very appealing agenda - it's hard enough to find the magazine where I live. I'll have to find somewhere to order one.
Oh Lucy...they look wonderful! And quite warm.
The knitted balls are just perfect for the Christmas season :)

I jumped with joy when I saw your post!!! Lovely, lovely mittens!! I do want to learn to knit - especially mittens!! But alas, where to find the time!!! Your trip to Germany looks delightful - I do miss the snow at times, as we get very little here in Texas. Way to go to get your beautiful projects published in Quiltmania Agenda 2013!!! I'm going to look for one for me!!
I still think of your visit very often!! It was such a special time for us!!
Tell Rene and all the family hi for us!!
Blessings

Congratulations on having your work in Quiltmania's agenda.

Your mittens are lovely - lining them sounds like a perfect idea - glad they passed the snow test! Your little Christmas ball is also very cute and congratulations for making it into the pages of Quiltmania!! Your snow photos are beautiful - it must be a nice time of the year when there is enough snow to be so pretty but not enough to be a nuisance?!
Evelyne
I have been wanting to try knitting one of those ornaments but have yet to do it. Seems like there is always socks or sweaters on my knitting needles : )
